CHARACTERISTICS:
Aluminum silicate, washed, dried and calibrated. Dust and metal free. Chemically neutral. Free Silica Free. Dark brown colour. Irregularly shaped, angular, slightly laminated grains with varied profiles, with slightly sharp edges. It has a medium friability, so it produces very little dust. Very good for dry blast jobs.
It does not pose a health risk, does not leave residues or contaminate surfaces.
APPLICATIONS:
For treatments and cleaning of surfaces by dry projection on iron, aluminum, fiberglass, wood, construction materials, etc.
Some of the most common applications are: Cleaning of rusty or contaminated parts; Removal of ink layers; Engraving on glass and metal; Reconditioning of auto parts; Preparation of surfaces to paint.
Depending on the pressure and the projection angle, different finishes and results can be obtained on the pieces.
Advantage:
Being a harder abrasive, it provides faster work, lower consumption of abrasive and generates less dust.
TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS:
Hardness: 7 Mohs
Bulk density: 1.2 - 1.4 g/cm3
Average grain size: from 200 to 500 microns
PRECAUTIONS:
As it does not contain free silica, it does not pose a risk of silicosis. It is not dangerous to health. Waste classification (Waste Board): Inert Waste (IN).
Respect the usual rules of hygiene and protection when working with the projection of particles. Despite low-pressure, low-abrasion work, in the absence of a self-contained helmet, it is necessary to wear at least a dust filter mask, eye protection (preferably face) and gloves. The use of a mask with an anti-dust filter and facial protection is mandatory in jet work
